Activation Steps

Before your start …

1. Create HiConversion Account

If you do not have your HiConversion Account already please sign up for one at

2. Get Site ID

Copy your site id from the site settings page in your account. You can get to it by using the hamburger menu or by clicking your site name in the upper right.

3. Download HiConversion’s Magento Extension Package File

Connector Activation Steps

No programming required. Just follow well-documented steps below.

Note: To activate your connector you must have admin access to your Magento storefront management console.

Step1: Log in to Magento Admin Panel


Step2: Disable Cache Management

System -> Cache Management


Select “Disable” from dropdown and click “Submit”.


Step 3: Disable Compilation

System – > Tools – > Compilation


Note : Compiler Status should change to disabled.

Step 4: Magento Connect Installation Manager

Go to System – > Magento Connect – > Magento Connect Manager


Browse to the package file and select.

Click “Upload”.

Click “Refresh” on the bottom of the installation page.


Step 5: Log Out from the Magento Admin Panel and Log in again

Make Sure you return to Admin Panel from Magento Connect manager and Logout .


Step 6: Enable Cache Management

System -> Cache Management



Select “Enable” from the dropdown options and click submit.


Step 7: Configuration

System -> Configuration – > HiConversion – > Settings


On left-hand side scroll down to “HICONVERSION” and click on “Settings”.


In the next Screen Insert your HiConversion Site ID and click “Save Config”.
If you don’t have one please signup at . For further instruction refer to “Hiconversion Site ID ” section.


Extension Installation via FTP …

  1. Click here to download the latest version of the extension.
  1. Unzip the file.
  1. Make sure to create the directory structure in your Magento – ‘Magento_Root/app/code/Hic/Integration’.
  1. Drop/move all of the content inside the unzipped folder to directory ‘Magento_Root/app/code/Hic/Integration’ on FTP.
  1. Run the command ‘php bin/magento module:enable Hic_Integration’ in Magento root. This will let Magento know about the module.
  1. Run the command ‘php bin/magento setup:upgrade’ in Magento root. This will ensure any installer scripts we may have are executed properly and store the current data version.
  1. Run the command ‘php bin/magento setup:di:compile’ if you have a single website and store, or ‘php bin/magento setup:di:compile-multi-tenant’ if you have multiple ones.
  2. Clear cache from Magento admin

Use HiConversion’s utilities to easily test your connector activation.

Automated Test

Just go to HiConversion > Home  and click on ‘Test Tag’ button..


Manual Test

Manual testing of the HiConversion – Magento extension is equally simple. Just use your browser’s developer tools, like Google Chrome’s “Inspect Element” or Safari’s ‘Develop’ and follow the detailed step-by-step instructions provided in the Appendix of The Users Guide.

The list in the Appendix includes the following test scenarios:

Test #2 – Page object matching

Test #3 – Add to cart object

Test #4 – Transaction object

Note: all tests require the site under test to be correctly associated with your valid HiConversion Account
